Driving Directions to Main Trailhead:
From U.S.Route One in East Orland follow Hatchery Road just over one mile to the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery. After the hatchery, turn right on Don Fish Trail and drive 0.5 miles to the entrance gate.
Bicycling Directions to Main Trailhead:
There is no need for bicycle parking because cycling is allowed on the multi-use Dead River Trail.
   
How to Follow the Route:
Walking directions for following the route:
2.5 mile long Dead River Trail parallels the Dead River several hundred feet upslope, then turns east to climb the shoulder of Great Pond Mountain. Side trails connect to a picnic site on the Dead River and other trails on Great Pond Mountain. Also nearby are nature trails on hatchery property.
